About the Trust

The Irish Farmers Journal has been on Irish kitchen tables every week since 1948. This shop is the same operation — the clothing, the books, the planners and the event tickets are made and sold by the people who put the paper out.

Owned by a trust, not a shareholder

The Journal is published by The Agricultural Trust. There is no outside owner taking a dividend. Every euro this shop makes goes back into Irish farming — into the reporting, the research and the days out that keep the paper worth reading.

That is the whole reason the shop exists. It is not a licensing deal and it is not merchandise for its own sake. It funds the work.

What we sell, and why

Clothing built for the yard. The soft-shell jackets, the hoodie, the caps and hats are chosen to be worn in the weather, not kept for good. We sell the same gear our own people wear at the Ploughing and at farm walks.

Books and guides that earn their place. The Irish Farm Planner, the Grazing Guide written with Teagasc, the Protecting Payments booklet, the 75-year anniversary book. Practical reading from the specialists who write the paper.

Days out worth travelling for. Tillage Day and the rest of our events put you in a room with the Journal's specialists and with other farmers. The ticket covers the talks, the lunch and the recordings afterwards.
